Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) and Japanese Business Alliance for Smart Energy Worldwide (JASE-W) signed Memorandum of Cooperation for improvement of energy efficiency and utilization of renewable energy sources. The Memorandum was signed in Moscow in the presence of the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation, Alexander Novak, and the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, Toshimitsu Motegi.

Russia SWG of energy conservation solution WG dispatch the mission for Public-Private Corporation to explore the matter based on two points with an investigation result of the regional heat supply system of Russia that executed in last year, and the renewal of the power generation facilities proposed to RDIF as Japan-Russia cooperation investment platform. As a result, Russian Ministry of Energy showed the intention of backing up the MOU conclusion of RDIF and JASE-W. They visited the electric power companies such as RAO Energy System of East and Inter RAO, and made the proposal to introduce the power plant in Russia to technologies and the equipments of Japan with finance, and obtained a good feeling. They had a meeting with relevant organizations of Russia stay on the last day.

Latin America SWG(Energy Saving Solution WG) dispatched a mission followed pre-mission in June 2013 and on the opportunity of Brazil – Japan Joint Committee on Promoting Trade, Investment and industrial Cooperation on 25th October organized by Minister of Economy trade and Industry of Japan and they made a presentation of Japanese smart energy technologies at the conference. Also they visited and had meeting with Planning and General Coordination Secretariat of State of Parana, Chamber Commercial and Industry of Parana, and Japan General Consulate in Curitiba, hospital, and local Japanese companies. They discussed issues of ESCO project of energy saving facilities, framework of Smart City including financial scheme problems.

Energy Solution for Commercial Sector SWG (Energy Saving Solution WG) dispatched a mission in order to hold the workshop in Philippines co-hosted with ASEAN Center for Energy. At the Workshop more than 200 people attended and Mr. Carlos Jericho L. Petilla, Secretary of Department of Energy explained the trend in their energy situation and Mr. Amano, Minister & Deputy Chief Mission Consul General of Japan Embassy of Philippines extended his greetings to the audience. JASE-W introduced their activities and 6 companies from members made presentations of their own smart energy technologies and products, and exchanged their opinions during Qs and As, concluding the workshop with business matching. In this mission they visited 4 locations such as hospital, shopping malls, office buildings and investigated the energy management of DHC(district heating and cooling) to explore the projects of Philippines’s commercial facilities. Also they visited Department of Energy and had discussed the policy of Energy with them.

Russia SWG (Energy Saving Solution WG) and Public-Private Cooperation WG participated in the Government - Business session of the 3rd meeting of Joint Committee of Japan-Russia Cooperation in Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, and discussed Japan's perspective on energy saving projects development in Russia and introduced their energy-efficient technologies of power and heat supply and renewable energy utilization, smart city and so on. At the meeting, the Secretary General of JASE-W signed an agreement to extend validity of Memorandum of Understanding for mutual cooperation between JASE-W and Russia Energy Agency, in the presence of representatives of Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation and Agency for Natural Resources & Energy(ANRE) of METI of Japan.

At the request of the ESCO Association of Indonesia, we conducted a hearing survey of energy saving situation, energy legal system and finances from Indonesian government, and a trial energy audit for the purpose of exploring the energy management conditions in the Grand Indonesia Shopping Town in Jakarta.

By the latest research of “the current market of energy saving solution business in Brazil, Brazil was found to be a potential market for Japan’s ESCO business. We targeted the market of some specific fields and dispatched the fact-finding mission to Brazil. Also we are requested to leverage the partnership with Japanese companies regarding the energy saving projects from the state of government Parana, for which the Energy Conservation Center Japan(ECCJ) conducted the seminar of capacity building in last November. We are planning to send the public and private mission in this November and this was a permission of preparing details.

Geothermal Power Generation WG dispatched a pre-mission to Guatemala, Colombia and Peru in September 2012 to explore the target country for a new geothermal power generation project. As a result, they selected Peru as a target country, and dispatched a public and private mission to Peru with cooperation of JASE-W members’ regional offices. The mission visited ELECTROPERU, the Ministry of Energy and Mining, JICA, JETRO and local government in Tacna Region, etc. An expert from the Ministry of Energy and Mining took them to Calientes (altitude 4400m) and Borateras (altitude 4400m-4500m) as potential sites for geothermal power generation plants.

Energy Solution for Commercial sector SWG dispatched a mission to Philippine Manila, asked for their cooperation by ASEAN-Japan Energy Efficiency Partnership(AJEEP) in order to explore the capability of an energy saving business. They conducted an energy audit, data acquisition, analysis of the air conditioning facilities of MarQuee Mall, and suggested to make improvements of their facilities to the owner. Last day the Workshop was held in Best Western Premier F1 Hotel for the government people of Philippine and ASEAN, local companies, and JASE-W's members made a presentation.
